Job summary

Volvo Group is offering an Apprenticeship for aspiring Heavy Vehicle Technicians. The programme includes on-site training with Volvo and Inspiro Heavy Vehicle Academy in Derby, spanning 32 months across 18 blocks with virtual and in-person sessions.

You will train with qualified technicians on repair, service, MOT and maintenance of modern trucks, buses and hybrids, with accommodation, meals and travel costs covered by the employer.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in heavy vehicles and mechanical puzzles.
• GCSEs in Math and English at grade C/4 or higher are preferred.
• Willingness to attend block-release college and on-site training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with repairs following Volvo Standard Times and using Volvo Special Tools.
• Assist in fault diagnosis processes.
• Learn and comply with warranty procedures during repairs and with warranty material on completion.
• Assist the parts team to ensure correct replacement parts are fitted.
• Learn to use Volvo special tools safely and efficiently.
• Attend college courses to achieve required standards.
• Attend technical or development training provided by Volvo.
