Job summary

Volvo Truck and Bus is offering an Apprenticeship for aspiring HGV technicians. You will gain hands-on experience repairing, servicing, MOT and maintaining modern trucks, buses and hybrids while learning in the workplace and at Inspiro Heavy Vehicle Academy in Derby.

You will attend 18 blocks over 32 months, with 1-2-1 coaching and IMI qualifications, including Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Level 3. Accommodation and travel costs are employer-covered.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and a desire to learn.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication skills and a team player mentality.

Responsibilities

• Assist with repairs following Volvo Standard Times using Volvo Tools.
• Assist in fault diagnosis and with warranty procedures.
• Work with the parts team to fit correct replacement parts.
• Learn to use Volvo special tools safely and efficiently.
• Attend college courses regularly and achieve required standards.
• Learn and participate in training delivered at Inspiro Heavy Vehicle Academy.
