Job summary

Volvo Group is opening applications for HGV Technician Apprenticeships starting in 2027 at Middlemarch Business Park in Coventry. Join a globally recognised brand and gain hands-on experience with Volvo trucks and buses, while completing a 32‑month Advanced Level Apprenticeship.

Starting dates include May and August 2027. Training combines classroom learning with on‑the‑job experience at Inspiro Heavy Vehicle Academy in Derby, with full equipment provided.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic about heavy vehicles and learning on the job.
• GCSEs in Maths and English at grades A*-C/4 or higher.
• Interest in mechanical systems and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist repairs carried out to Volvo standards using Volvo tools.
• Assist in fault diagnosis under supervision.
• Learn and follow warranty procedures during repairs.
• Assist with selecting correct parts with the parts team.
• Learn to use Volvo special tools safely and efficiently.
• Keep workshop clean and maintain PPE usage.
• Ensure accurate completion of job cards and time records.
• Report any vehicle defects to the workshop supervisor.
• Attend college courses and complete required training.
