Job description
Heavy Plant Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Plant Engineer to join our team, working with large static plant ranging from 20–50 tonnes, including crushers, screeners and other heavy machinery commonly used on demolition sites and MRFs. This role offers long-term stability, a strong overtime structure and the opportunity to work with complex, high-value equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, repair and service all heavy plant equipment in line with manufacturer specifications.
  • Respond to breakdowns across various sites as required.
  • Monitor and maintain parts stock, reporting purchase requirements to the manager.
  • Keep up to date with technical developments and identify training or equipment needs.
  • Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised and compliant with all legislation.
  • Carry out all tasks safely and make full use of the tools, equipment and PPE provided.
Person Specification
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, adaptable attitude.
  • Willingness to work overtime and take on varied tasks.
  • Fast learner with the ability to understand new products and machinery.
  • High awareness of health & safety standards and safe working practices.
  • Physically fit, active and able to work across changing site environments.
Hours & Benefits
  • 45-hour week
  • Monday–Friday + Saturday AM
  • Overtime available (paid at x1.5)
