Job summary

Active Care Group is hiring a full-time Care Assistant at the Hothfield Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre in Kent. You will build supportive relationships with patients and assist with rehabilitation, daily living activities and personal care as needed.

Applicants should be 18+ and available for shifts including days, nights and weekends. An Enhanced DBS is required; full training and development opportunities are offered in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• A genuine interest in providing person-centred care.
• Experience in the care sector / mental health is advantageous but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS will be required for successful candidates.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with patients, maintaining open two-way communication.
• Support patients to undertake their rehabilitation programme.
• Assist with mealtimes and activities of daily living when needed.
• Communicate issues to the clinical team and accurately report activities created.
• Ensure patients are kept safe and that their human rights are respected.

Salary: £26,861.71 (FTE) Per annum (Pro rata).

Hours: 37.63hrs per week. Full Time hours must be able to work Days & Nights.

Location: Hothfield Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre Bethersden Road Hothfield Kent TN26 1AZ.

You need to be aged 18 years and above.

What you'll be working:

• Full time - 37.63hrs per week)
• Involving shift work and alternate weekends, requiring flexibility to ensure the service operates smoothly and safely.
• Working arrangements will be discussed further during the interview process.
• Must be able to work Days and Nights
• Working weekends on a rota basis

What you'll be doing:

• Build relationships with patients, which are open and two way
• Support patients to undertake their rehabilitation programme
• Establish methods of communication with patients, reducing barriers when necessary
• Assist patients with mealtimes where necessary
• Support with activities of daily living and personal care when needed
• Communicate any issues to the clinical team
• Accurately report and/or record work activities
• Keeping people safe from any harm and protecting their human rights.

What you will have:

• A genuine interest in providing the best person centre care possible for our young people
• Experience working within the care sector / mental health would be an advantage but not essential
• Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
