Wolverhampton

Hybrid working (Office / Site / Home based)

Established leading Midlands გამოიყენ construction company working on new build and refurbishment projects within social housing, care and residential. Due to growth the company is looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join the Wolverhampton office.

Role

Health & Safety Manager reporting to Directors.

Responsibilities
  • Development of the HSEQT (Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality & Training) Management system in line with relevant ISO's.
  • Ensure compliance with HSEQT processes within the business.
  • Report to management on the performance of the management systems and any need for improvement.
  • Promote and raise awareness of customer requirements throughout the organisation.
  • Complete Construction Stage Plans, Pre‑Qualification & Tender Documents, Emergency Response Plans, etc.
  • Write and continually update risk assessments and method statements, and re‑assess generic R&M's for the business.
  • Conduct site audits, inspections & reports (frequency dependent on site specifics, duration, type of work).
  • Address Occupational Health issues & implementation.
  • Maintain & secure new certification for works that the company undertakes.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental statutory obligations.
  • Explore and provide feedback for sustainability initiatives.
  • Provide internal training including inductions, toolbox talks, etc.
  • Maintain & update training matrix, and inform management of new training needs & relevant qualifications (e.g., CSCS Cards, NVQ, Microsoft training).
  • Maintain the company’s ISO and NEBOSH levels.
  • Manage all existing accreditations (CHAS, Constructionline, etc.).
  • Maintain records of incidents, conduct investigations to establish root causes and implement controls to prevent recurrence.
  • Record trends,FTP provide feedback to management and develop departmental strategyDallas.
  • Work with Contracts Managers &amp ინფ site managers to tailor HSEQT to specific client requirements.
  • Attend monthly site progress meetings.
  • Drive continuous improvement and implement initiatives to promote best practice.
  • Report to the Company Management Team.
Other duties
  • Maintain all plant &amp access equipment owned by all companies (renew/certificate, source maintenance, asset register).
  • Maintain fire safety in all offices (fire extinguishers, safe ingress/egress, fire strategy, fire alarms).
  • Ensure first aid requirements are met in all offices.
  • Overall Health & Safety compliance across the board.
  • Attend HSEQT seminars internally & externally; produce required reports.
Qualifications
  • Strong investigative skills, good influencing and persuasive skills, and the ability to find solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with NEBOSH and IOSH accreditations preferred.
  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Flexible to travel to sites when required.
Remuneration

Up to £65,000 per annum, plus company car/car allowance, dependent on experience.
