Job Title Headteacher

Employment Status: Full Time Permanent

Actual Salary: Leadership Scale L12 – L16: £67,898 - £75,049 per annum

Required: April 2026

About the role

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Headteacher to lead Whittle Academy and join our dedicated, collaborative team. The successful candidate will provide visionary leadership, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and personal development across the school. You will champion our ethos of care, inclusion, and aspiration, creating an environment where every child can thrive and “soar beyond what they imagine possible.” Working closely with the Executive Headteacher, Trust leaders, and the Local Governing Body, you will shape the strategic direction of the school and inspire staff to deliver excellence.

Key responsibilities & qualifications

All staff are expected to know what to do if they have concerns about a child, take on the responsibility for providing a safe environment and promoting children’s welfare, undertake regular safeguarding and child protection training and familiarize themselves with KCSIE part 1 and local policies and procedures as directed by the trust/academy.

At interview, candidates will be asked for photo identification and where applicable proof of qualifications. The appointment is subject to DBS enhanced clearance plus 2 suitable professional references.
