AB Boutique Hotels Ltd in St Mawes is seeking a Head Receptionist to shape the guest experience from door to departure. You will lead the day-to-day reception, support and develop the team, and ensure a warm, seamless welcome.

This role requires hotel front office experience, supervisory skills, strong guest service and communication, and the ability to stay calm during busy periods. Training opportunities, staff discounts and a boutique hotel environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel Reception or Front Office experience.
• Some supervisory or team-leading experience.
• Strong guest service and communication skills.
• Confidence using hotel booking or property management systems.
• Good organisational and administrative skills.
• The ability to remain calm and positive during busy periods.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Flexible approach to working early shifts, late shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
• Experience within a boutique, luxury or lifestyle hotel would be an advantage, as would previous pre-opening experience.

Responsibilities

• Leading the daily Reception operation and supporting smooth shift handovers.
• Welcoming guests and overseeing arrivals and departures.
• Supporting the Reception team and leading from the desk during busy periods.
• Handling guest enquiries, requests and feedback with confidence and care.
• Working closely with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and Maintenance to ensure the guest journey runs smoothly.
• Maintaining accurate guest, booking and billing information.
• Supporting rotas, training and the development of the Reception team.
• Ensuring high standards of presentation throughout Reception and guest-facing areas.
• Looking for opportunities to personalise the guest experience and create memorable moments.
