Job summary

An education recruitment agency is seeking a school-experienced Head of Year to join a school in Telford immediately. This full-time role involves leading a year group, promoting student wellbeing, and supporting tutors. Candidates should have strong leadership skills and relevant experience in a school setting. The position requires excellent communication abilities and the ability to monitor student progress effectively. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a pastoral or leadership role within a school setting is required.
  • Experience as a tutor, behaviour/pastoral lead, or similar is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a designated year group promoting achievement and wellbeing.
  • Support and guide tutors to ensure consistent pastoral care.
  • Monitor attendance, behaviour, and academic progress.
  • Identify students needing additional support and implement interventions.
  • Meet regularly with students and parents to support engagement.
  • Work closely with staff to promote a positive school environment.
