Job description

We are seeking an inspirational and strategic Head of English to lead and further develop a high-performing faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for the vision, leadership and day-to-day management of English across the school, ensuring outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes for all students.

Working closely with the Senior Management Team, you will shape the future direction of the subject, lead curriculum development (including preparation for co-education in the Lower School), and use data intelligently to drive improvement and intervention. You will line manage staff, support professional development, and foster a collaborative, reflective team culture.

You will ensure high standards of teaching from Lower School through to A Level, promote scholarship and a love of English, and contribute to whole-school priorities including literacy, co-curricular provision, and the wider life of the school. The role also includes responsibility for budget planning, resource development, staff recruitment and induction, and representing the subject in school forums and marketing activities.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic leader to make a significant impact on the strategic development of English in a forward-thinking school.

We are a diverse community at Trinity and strongly encourage applications from teaching and operational staff from a range of backgrounds. To enable us to make any reasonable adjustments, please let us know when you submit your application whether you have any special requirements.
