Responsibilities
  • Own the global digital product strategy and roadmap across app, web, in-club digital touchpoints, integrations and future service layers.
  • Translate Virgin Active's "Where Wellness Gets Real" ambition into product direction, strategic bets, prioritisation and measurable success metrics.
  • Represent Product confidently at Executive and Board level, shaping strategic conversations and securing alignment across the organisation.
  • Ensure product strategy remains tightly connected to key business goals including growth, retention, visit frequency, brand experience and wider transformation initiatives.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing global product organisation across Product, Design, UX, Research and Product Ops.
  • Recruit, coach and develop senior product leaders, creating clear performance expectations and progression pathways.
  • Foster a culture of discovery, experimentation and data‑driven decision making, with rapid movement from insight to learning to delivery.
  • Shape how the product organisation operates – including rituals, governance, prioritisation and cross‑functional ways of working.
  • Lead end‑to‑end product delivery across insight, discovery, design, build, launch and ongoing iteration.
  • Define and track critical KPIs such as acquisition, conversion, digital engagement, visit frequency, retention and LTV.
  • Ensure strong product operations including efficient resource allocation, healthy roadmaps and scalable delivery.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Data, Marketing, Brand, Operations and Fitness Product to deliver seamless, connected member experiences across digital and club environments.
  • Act as a key connector across Brand, Clubs/Operations, Sales, Data and Finance, ensuring alignment and shared understanding of product direction.
  • Communicate product progress, decisions, trade‑offs and risks clearly to senior stakeholders and international markets.
Qualifications
  • Significant experience shaping and leading digital product strategy in large‑scale consumer businesses.
  • Proven success managing and developing multidisciplinary product teams across multiple markets or geographies.
  • Experience in delivering consumer‑facing digital products that delivered measurable commercial impact (e.g., membership, engagement, retention).
  • Deep expertise in translating vision into actionable strategy, roadmap development and delivered outcomes.
  • Strong leadership and people‑management skills, with experience building teams, developing talent and driving cultural change.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders across Engineering, UX/Design, Marketing, Brand and Finance, influencing at executive level.
  • Strategic thinking combined with operational rigour, able to operate at both high level and detail level when required.
  • Experience in subscription or membership models, omnichannel digital‑physical experiences or wellness/fitness (beneficial).
