Overview

Head of Care / Deputy Care Home Manager — Bath — £35,000-£40,000

Puro are working with a developing care provider to recruit a Head of Care / Deputy Care Home Manager for their residential home in Bath. The home specialises in care for the elderly and those with dementia.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of the home, ensuring high standards of care for all residents. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to supervise staff effectively, and a commitment to providing exceptional care.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medication, update care plans, conduct assessments, and assist with ordering medications and DOLs referrals, with the support of the Registered Manager.
  • Complete updating care plans and assessments; supervise and appraise staff; provide ongoing supervision and leadership.
  • Assist the Manager in the overall management of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Supervise and support nursing staff, delivering high-quality care to residents.
  • Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs, addressing health and well-being.
  • Foster a positive environment that promotes resident dignity, independence, and quality of life.
  • Conduct regular assessments of resident care and staff performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
  • Collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
  • Manage day-to-day operations including staffing schedules, training programmes, and maintaining health and safety standards within the facility.
  • Be part of the On-call rota system.
Requirements
  • Experience as a team leader / head of care / deputy manager / equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a care home.
  • Strong leadership abilities with proven experience in supervising teams within a care setting.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
  • Knowledge of dementia care practices is an advantage.
  • A compassionate approach with a commitment to enhancing residents’ quality of life.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
