Job summary

Loungers plc is hiring a full-time Head Chef for Morello Lounge, a vibrant café bar. You will lead the on-site kitchen, drive a culture of excellence, and shape a high-performing team. The role offers progression opportunities and a hands-on leadership style in a growing hospitality group.

You’ll manage from open-to-close across shifts, develop staff, ensure menu standards, and deliver strong kitchen KPIs while collaborating with front-of-house to maintain a one-team culture.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of kitchen teams and ability to build a cohesive, high-performing unit.
• Experience as Head Chef, Kitchen Manager or Sous Chef ready for progression.
• Strong knowledge of GP, labour, stock and food safety KPIs to drive performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Morello Lounge kitchen floor-to-pass, ensuring food quality and consistency across shifts.
• Recruit, develop and coach kitchen staff with clear development plans.
• Know menu specs and kitchen processes, spotting issues before they arise and catching opportunities.
• Own site-level action plans covering wait times, stock, ordering and cleaning.
• Deliver on KPIs: quality, wait times, wastage, food safety and GP.
