Job summary

Principal IT in Chelmsford is seeking a hands-on IT Support Engineer to join a growing team. The role covers IT support, infrastructure, networking, systems, cybersecurity and IT projects, with hands-on ownership of IT environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT Support, IT Systems, Infrastructure or similar IT role.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows and Active Directory.
• Good understanding of networking and IT infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and Cyber Essentials.
• Excellent communication skills with non-technical users.
• Proactive and organized approach to work.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on IT support and troubleshooting to users across the business.
• Set up, configure and maintain computers, hardware and software.
• Manage and support Microsoft 365, Windows and user accounts.
• Maintain and troubleshoot networks, switches, firewalls, VPNs and wireless infrastructure.
• Support system upgrades, installations and migrations.
• Research, test and implement new software and IT solutions.
• Assist with IT projects and provide support and training to users.
• Maintain accurate IT documentation and ensure security standards are maintained.
• Monitor and identify opportunities to improve IT systems and efficiency.
• Help maintain a secure, reliable IT environment.
