Job summary

JD Gyms in the UK is seeking a Duty Manager to support the day-to-day operation of the club, ensuring a safe, welcoming and high-standard member experience. Working with the wider management team, you will help achieve membership and commercial objectives while upholding JD Gyms brand standards.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, safety checks and coaching colleagues to deliver outstanding service. The role requires at least Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification and a flexible schedule,

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supporting colleagues within a leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environment.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering excellent member service and has the ability to support, coach and develop colleagues.
• Must be qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor
• Experience contributing to membership growth, commercial performance, local marketing initiatives and team development.
• Experience supporting operational delivery, people leadership and commercial performance within a leisure or customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day operational running of the club, including opening and closing duties.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends, in line with business needs.
• Ensure that all policies and procedures in Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks; report defects to ensure equipment is safe to use.
• Support the achievement of membership, revenue and commercial objectives.
• Identify and support opportunities to grow secondary revenue streams.
• Ensure the gym facility is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Support General Assistants in maintaining high cleanliness standards across all areas.
• Deliver outstanding member service through positive and professional interactions.
