Job summary

JD Gyms in the United Kingdom is seeking a Duty Manager to support day-to-day club operations, uphold safety standards, train and inspire colleagues, and ensure members have a welcoming, high-quality experience.

You will work with the management team to drive membership growth, achieve commercial targets, and maintain JD Gyms Brand Standards, while delivering outstanding customer service and leading by example.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supporting colleagues within a leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environment.
• Strong commitment to delivering excellent member service with coaching and development skills.
• Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
• Experience contributing to membership growth and commercial performance.
• Experience supporting operational delivery and team leadership in leisure or customer-focused settings.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day operational running of the club, including opening and closing duties where required.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends, in line with business needs.
• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects, to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.
• Support the achievement of membership, revenue and commercial objectives.
• Identify and support opportunities to grow secondary revenue streams.
• Ensure the gym facility is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Support General Assistants in maintaining high cleanliness standards across all areas of the club.
• Maintain professional appearance and uniform standards across the team in line with company expectations.
• Deliver outstanding member service through positive and professional interactions.
• Help create a positive, supportive and engaging environment for colleagues and contracted personnel.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties, projects or meetings as required.
• Represent JD Gyms values and standards in all interactions with members and colleagues.
