Job summary

JD Gyms in Sunderland is looking for a Duty Manager to support daily club operations and ensure a safe, welcoming experience for members. You will work with the management team to hit membership and commercial targets while upholding JD Gyms standards.

The role requires leading or supporting a team, delivering excellent member service, and maintaining high cleanliness and safety across the club. A Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification is required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead or support teams in leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused settings.
• Strong commitment to delivering excellent member service and coaching colleagues.
• Must hold Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification.
• Experience growing memberships, driving commercial performance and local marketing.
• Experience supporting operational delivery, people leadership and commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational running of the club, including opening/closing duties as required.
• Work flexibly across early mornings, evenings and weekends per business needs.
• Adhere to Health and Safety policies and company procedures.
• Maintain JD Gyms Brand Standards in all duties and interactions.
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly safety checks and report defects to keep facilities safe.
