Job Title : Procurement Manager

Department : Finance

Location : Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Working Pattern : Hybrid (includes 3 days each week in the office)

Contact Type : Full time, permanent

Salary : Up to £60,000

Reporting to : CFO / Group FC

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Procurement Manager to take full ownership of our procurement function. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, ensuring best value, compliance, and strong supplier performance across all existing and future contracts. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on delivery, negotiation strength, and the ability to embed robust procurement processes within a growing business.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Governance
  • Develop and implement a company-wide procurement strategy aligned to financial and operational goals.
  • Create and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and frameworks to ensure compliance and control.
  • Introduce process improvements and digital tools to enhance procurement efficiency.
  • Train and support internal teams on procurement processes, contract usage, and supplier engagement.
Supplier & Contract Management
  • Manage all existing supplier contracts, ensuring performance, value for money, and adherence to agreed service levels.
  • Lead contract renewals, renegotiations, and re-tenders, ensuring optimal commercial outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, acting as the primary point of contact.
  • Implement structured supplier performance reviews and escalation processes.
  • Contracts vary in size and scope, up to multi-million £GBP.
End-to-End Procurement Execution
  • Support sourcing activities including market research, tendering, bid analysis, and supplier selection.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, SLAs, and contractual risk provisions.
  • Draft, review, and oversee the execution of procurement contracts with legal support where required.
Cost Management & Value Delivery
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities without compromising operational quality or service.
  • Track and report on savings, contract spend, and procurement KPIs.
  • Work with Finance Business Partners to provide visibility of spend performance and risks to the Executive Leadership Team.
Risk, Compliance & ESG
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and relevant UK legislation.
  • Assess and mitigate supply chain risks including financial, operational, and sustainability risks.
  • Support ESG, ethical sourcing, and responsible procurement initiatives.
What will you need to succeed?
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end procurement in a mid to large size organisation.
  • Experience procuring technology products for internal business use, including software and CRM / ERP.
  • Strong contract management background, including renewals, negotiation, and supplier performance oversight.
  • Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to drive savings and improvement initiatives.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience implementing procurement processes, systems, or frameworks.
  • Knowledge of UK procurement law, contract structures, and risk management.
  • CIPS qualification (or working towards) beneficial but not essential.
