Job summary

Bettys & Taylors Group in Harrogate is seeking a Group Financial Controller to lead accounting, tax, treasury and transactional finance teams, safeguarding financial integrity and liquidity.

Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will implement strong governance, drive financial control, manage external audits, hedging, and advise on strategic financial decisions to support ambitious plans.

Qualifications

• Experience leading accounting, tax, treasury and transactional finance teams.
• Strong governance, controls and external reporting experience.
• Experience with HMRC expectations and senior accounting officer requirements.
• High ethical standards and commitment to compliant stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop accounting, tax, treasury and transactional finance teams.
• Maintain integrity and accuracy of monthly results and statutory accounts.
• Ensure UK GAAP compliance and related standards.
• Improve financial control framework with policies, controls and monitoring.
• Oversee tax compliance including Corporation Tax and VAT.
• Lead external statutory audits and liaise with auditors.
• Manage bank accounts, treasury and cash-flow.
• Advise leadership on financial risks and opportunities.
• Support Group Finance Director and shape group-wide finance strategy.
