Job summary

VanRath is seeking a highly skilled Group Accountant to join the finance team and support strategic development within a reputable organisation. You will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing management accounts, and providing forecasts to aid decision making.

The role requires ACA/CIMA/ACCA with 3+ years post-qualified experience, strong Excel skills, and effective communication with senior stakeholders in a dynamic, growing environment.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with post-qualified experience in a financial or commercial setting.
• Experience with ledgers and statutory accounting standards is required.
• Experience preparing management accounts and liaising with external auditors is required.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, audit, and update financial records and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Provide financial forecasts and support strategic planning.
• Prepare and present management accounts regularly.
• Handle core finance activities including bank reconciliations, VAT returns, and statutory compliance.
• Support company acquisitions and oversee property portfolios.
• Supervise payroll functions.

About you

• Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with at least 3 years post-qualified experience in a financial or commercial setting

• Proficient in Excel and familiar with multiple accounting software packages
• Experience working with different currency bases is advantageous
