Job summary

VanRath, a Northern Ireland-based organisation with global reach, seeks a Trainee Management Accountant in Newry to develop financial skills within FP&A. The role offers study support towards CIMA and a clear path to progression.

You will assist with monthly management accounts, budgeting, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting while rotating through finance functions and building stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Graduate with a 2:1 degree in Accountancy, Finance or related discipline.
• Ready to commence studying towards the CIMA qualification.
• At least one year's experience within a finance role.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and accounting skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments and manual journals.
• Assist with annual budget preparation and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support key financial reporting requirements across various business functions.
• Contribute to year-end accounts preparation and audit schedules.
• Assist with monthly Group inventory valuation.
• Prepare financial reports and analysis for management reporting and statutory returns.

What you'll do

• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments and manual journals
• Assist with annual budget preparation and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Support key financial reporting requirements across various business functions
• Contribute to year-end accounts preparation and audit schedules
• Assist with monthly Group inventory valuation
• Prepare financial reports and analysis for management reporting, grant claims, statistical returns and other business requirements
• Maintain and improve finance systems and procedures to support effective financial reporting and budgetary control
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation
• Rotate through various roles within the Finance team to gain broad experience
• Provide ad hoc support to the wider Finance team as required
