Job description
Role Overview

Are you ready to make a real impact across a global group of companies and help shape the future of finance?

Sperry Marine is a leading supplier of navigation, communication, information, and automation systems for commercial marine and naval markets. Headquartered in the United Kingdom, we have an extensive international presence across Europe, the Americas and Asia, employing almost 400 people across ten countries.

We're looking for a UK-based qualified accountant to join our team, on a one year fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll play a key role in driving the centralisation and standardisation of finance processes, leveraging our global ERP system to improve governance, efficiency, and control.

You'll be integral to month-end and year-end closing and reporting cycles, as well as supporting technical accounting, policy development, and business initiatives that enhance financial insight and decision-making.

Collaboration is key: you'll work closely with regional finance and commercial teams to ensure group policies and processes are effective locally. Your strong technology skills, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail will make you the go-to expert for optimising systems and reducing friction in financial processes across the group.

About You

You'll bring resilience and professionalism to the role, thriving under pressure while meeting strict deadlines. Analytical and proactive, you'll approach challenges with meticulous attention to detail, strong collaboration skills, and unwavering integrity.

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance (or related field) and ACA/ACCA qualified, ideally with progressive experience in industry or practice
  • A self-starter who thrives with limited supervision (direct line management based in Singapore; local finance team support available)
  • Highly effective communicator, able to engage across regions and cultures, including remote environments
  • Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities flexibly
  • Strong Excel proficiency and ability to adapt quickly to ERP systems (IFS experience is a plus)
  • Solid IFRS experience; US GAAP knowledge is an advantage
  • Experience working with international teams, often with colleagues for whom English is not the first language is a plus
