Qualifications

  • Qualified Recognised CCAB accounting qualification (ACA / ACMA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
  • Experience gained either in practice within a large firm or in a similar statutory accounting role.
  • Experience of FRS 102 and strong statutory accounting experience.

The Vacancy

We are looking for a Group Accountant to join our Group Finance team based in our Head Office in Viables, Basingstoke. This role, reporting to the Group Reporting Manager, is an exciting opportunity for someone either already experienced in a Group role, or someone who is qualified and looking to take the next step in their career, as it provides exposure to all areas of our business and gives insight into all aspects of work performed by the wider finance community.

Interacting with senior stakeholders, audit, manufacturing and the Financial Operations Team, the Group Accountant will be responsible for supporting the preparation of monthly consolidation processes, coordinating and facilitating the reporting and resolution of issues on Intercompany, and will support the production of audit coordination for UK and Overseas company statutory accounts, including the tax return data gathering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing assistance to the Group Reporting Accountant in ensuring timely completion of the monthly financial close in accordance with the reporting timetable
  • Ensuring control activities are completed on a timely basis and that a strong control environment is maintained
  • Oversight and support for entity rationalisation activities
  • Supporting the preparation and review of notes to the group statutory accounts for the year-end audit
  • Co-ordinating the intercompany matching process and following up on any issues and reconciliation differences
  • Co-ordinating the reconciliation process across all the sites
  • Planning and preparation of the Group's UK companies statutory accounts, including preparing supporting working documents
  • Liaising with the Taxation department for tax journals and disclosures to enable effective compliance and appropriate information exchange regarding taxation computations and issues
  • Coordination of reviews of all Statutory Accounts by the Group Reporting Manager and the Direct Tax Manager as resolution of any matters arising
  • Streamline and enhance processes for the efficient and accurate preparation of all statutory accounts
  • Planning and coordination of the Group's Overseas Statutory Accounts prepared by a third‑party supplier

Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified Recognised CCAB accounting qualification (ACA / ACMA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience gained either in practice within a large firm or in a similar statutory accounting role
  • Experience of FRS 102 and strong statutory accounting experience including project managing accounts preparation from start to finish, and audit management and sign off
  • Experience of leading projects from start to finish and working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of Group reporting systems (ideally BPC/BYD) would be an advantage
