Grounds Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Scarborough

Salary: Above Real living wage

Contract Type: Permanent, Full time

Typical Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Are you a hands‑on leader with a passion for the outdoors? We’re looking for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to take charge of our grounds and tree works operations.

You’ll lead a dedicated team, ensure top‑quality results, and keep our sites looking their best, safely, efficiently, and on time. From planning and resource coordination to mentoring staff and maintaining client relationships, you’ll be at the heart of it all.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Supervise and support grounds maintenance and tree work teams on‑site
  • Plan and schedule daily workloads, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on time
  • Carry out quality checks to maintain high standards across all sites
  • Monitor health and safety compliance, including RAMS, permits, and site inspections
  • Coordinate staff, subcontractors, vehicles, machinery, and equipment
  • Provide training, mentoring, and performance feedback to team members
  • Communicate effectively with clients, attending meetings and resolving any issues on site
  • Identify and price additional works where required, supporting continuous improvement

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Grounds Maintenance Supervisor or Team Leader
  • Strong background in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or horticulture
  • Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills
  • Confident communicator with a hands‑on leadership style
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
