Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to keep outdoor spaces neat and safe. You will perform grass and hedge cutting, border upkeep, leaf clearing and general grounds tasks at sites in Derbyshire. A full UK driving licence and a can-do attitude are important; training and safety are emphasised.

Role involves operating basic hand tools and machinery, supporting winter services, and reporting hazards to management as part of a committed, flexible team.

Qualifications

• Outdoor work in varying conditions; flexibility is a must.
• Good grasp of smartphone technology and related apps.
• Grounds maintenance experience is desirable but not essential.
• PAI & PA6 spraying licenses are a plus.
• Full UK driving licence is preferred for roles with company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Carry out grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, leaf clearing, spraying, and litter picking.
• Operate hand tools and powered horticultural machinery safely and effectively.
• Deliver winter services including gritting, snow clearance, and Christmas tree installation.
• Report site hazards and relevant information to management.
• Follow health and safety procedures and undertake additional training as required.
