Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative in Edinburgh to deliver high standards of outdoor maintenance and support SLA commitments. You will cut grass, hedge, manage borders, clear leaves, spray where needed, and assist with winter services and safety reporting.

The role requires a full UK driving licence; experience with trailers is a bonus. A flexible, outdoors-oriented candidate with good smartphone skills and a willingness to undertake training will fit well with Mitie’s team.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Experience pulling trailers would be beneficial.
• Grounds maintenance experience is desirable but not essential.
• PAI & PA6 spraying license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, leaf clearing, spraying, and litter picking.
• Operate hand tools and powered horticultural machinery safely and effectively.
• Deliver winter services including gritting, snow clearance, and Christmas tree installation.
• Report site hazards and relevant information to management.
• Follow health and safety procedures and undertake additional training as required.
