Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Graduate Road Drainage Engineer to join our Road Drainage team in the UK. You'll develop your career in drainage and hydraulic engineering, focusing on design and assessment of drainage systems for roads and transport infrastructure.

You’ll work with experienced engineers, gain exposure across feasibility to detailed design, and contribute to safe, resilient surface water management and SuDS.

Qualifications

• BEng in Civil Engineering or related field with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or above.
• An MEng in Civil Engineering or related discipline would be advantageous.
• A relevant Master’s degree in Water Engineering or Hydraulics would be advantageous.
• Genuine interest in drainage, hydraulics and road infrastructure.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with ability to interpret technical information.
• Good MS Office skills, especially Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Design and assess drainage systems for roads and transport infrastructure.
• Undertake drainage and hydraulic calculations and modelling.
• Assist with drainage strategies and surface water management solutions.
• Support hydraulic modelling and analysis of drainage networks and watercourses.
• Assist with SuDS design and other sustainable water solutions.
• Support flood risk assessments and mitigation measures.
• Contribute to preparation of technical reports, calculations and drawings.
