Job summary

Galliford Try Group invites applications for its UK Graduate Development Programme in Construction Management/Civil Engineering. You will work in a full-time role, starting with a two-year development track and on-the-job learning to progress toward a Project Manager role.

As a participant, you will gain hands-on experience from design through site delivery, with mentoring and potential professional qualification sponsorship. Travel to projects and remote work arrangements may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or similar) before September 2027.
• Eligible to live and work in the UK without restriction by start date.
• Demonstrated collaboration and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager with day-to-day management and coordination of SEMD projects.
• Assist with project planning, programme development and monitoring of milestones.
• Coordinate with internal teams, Thames Water, designers, security contractors and supply chain.
• Develop and coordinate SEMD/security designs across civil, structural, electrical and security systems.
• Attend design reviews, project meetings and site progress reviews.
• Identify and manage project risks, constraints and opportunities.
• Support procurement activities and evaluate subcontractor proposals.
• Understand project commercial management including budgets and variations.
• Gain experience with contractual processes and project correspondence.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, safety and coordination.
• Assist with commissioning, handover and close-out activities.
