Job summary

Mott MacDonald invites graduates to join our Building Services team as a Graduate Mechanical Building Services Engineer. You will help design mechanical systems for safe, comfortable, efficient, and sustainable buildings, working with multidisciplinary teams on diverse projects from healthcare to transport.

The role offers a structured early careers programme with a mentor, and a hybrid working policy. Candidates should have a bachelor and master in relevant fields (or close) with under 12

Qualifications

• Bachelor and master degrees in the listed disciplines (obtained no earlier than 2025) or expected.
• Less than 12 months of relevant experience (excluding placements).
• Eligible for security clearance; UK national or five years' UK residence.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and specification of mechanical building services systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, domestic water, public health).
• Assist with calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Contribute to sustainability and decarbonisation strategies to help achieve net-zero targets.
• Use industry-standard software and digital engineering tools to develop and coordinate designs.
• Collaborate with electrical, structural, civil, architectural, and sustainability specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, surveys, and commissioning activities.
• Analyze building energy performance and identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
• Support project planning, programme management, and cost control.
• Develop understanding of relevant legislation, standards, building regulations, and industry best practice.
