Job summary

Mott MacDonald in the UK is seeking a Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join our Building Services team. You will work on a range of private and public sector projects across major frameworks and one-off schemes, contributing to design, calculations, and energy performance.

You will have a degree in building services, be progressing chartership, and possess knowledge of current codes. The role offers hybrid working, career development, and opportunities to mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience of mechanical engineering in the built environment, preferably within a consultancy business.
• Degree in building services engineering specializing in mechanical services.
• Actively working towards chartership.
• Up to date knowledge of current building regulations, legislation and standards.
• Proficient with NBS specifications and IES/TAS/H2X; BIM knowledge.
• Self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative and collaborate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review documentation (design basis, specifications, procurement specs, reports) for mechanical services.
• Conduct detailed surveys of mechanical services and propose upgrade design options.
• Produce and review mechanical design drawings and calculations (HVAC, water, drainage).
• Produce fee estimates for work elements.
• Advise on energy consumption and improvements for energy performance.
• Monitor design and project management of building services within programme.
