Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Building Services Engineer to design safe, comfortable, efficient and sustainable building systems. You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams on diverse projects from healthcare to transport hubs, with a focus on net-zero outcomes.

You will gain exposure across concept through to operation, supported by a mentor and a three-year development programme, with hybrid working and a broad range of employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Less than 12 months’ relevant experience (excluding placements).
• Bachelor's and Master's degrees (obtained no earlier than 2025) or expected in one of the listed degree disciplines.
• Eligibility to obtain UK security clearance for applicable projects.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and specification of mechanical building services systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, domestic water, and public health).
• Assist with calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Contribute to sustainability and decarbonisation strategies to help clients reach net-zero targets.
• Use industry-standard software and digital engineering tools to develop and coordinate designs.
• Collaborate with electrical, structural, civil, architectural, and sustainability teams on integrated solutions.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, surveys and commissioning activities.
• Analyze building energy performance and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Assist in project planning, programme management, and cost control, and engage with clients.
