Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Building Services Engineer in the UK to help design mechanical systems for safe, comfortable, energy-efficient buildings. You'll work with multidisciplinary teams on projects across healthcare, education, commercial, and transport sectors as part of a structured early-career program.

Qualifications

• Less than 12 months of relevant experience (excluding placements).
• Bachelor's and Master's degrees obtained no earlier than 2025 or expected to achieve one of the listed disciplines.
• Eligibility to obtain UK security clearance; UK national or five years residence in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and specification of mechanical building services systems, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), domestic water, and public health systems.
• Assist with the preparation of calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Contribute to sustainability and decarbonisation strategies to help clients achieve net-zero targets.
• Use industry-standard software and digital engineering tools to develop and coordinate designs.
• Collaborate with electrical, structural, civil, architectural, and sustainability specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, surveys, and commissioning activities.
• Assist in analyzing building energy performance and identifying efficiency opportunities.
• Support project planning, programme management, cost control, and client interactions.
• Develop understanding of legislation, standards, building regulations, and best practice.
