Job summary

Anglian Water Services, in partnership with @one Alliance, invites graduates to join a flagship capital programme across the East of England. Based in Peterborough with hybrid working, you’ll gain hands-on civil engineering experience from day one while developing under seasoned professionals.

You will hold a Civil/Structural degree (2:2 or above), apply structural calculation methods, and use design software. A UK driving licence and travel flexibility are desirable.

Qualifications

  • 2:2 degree or above in Civil or Structural engineering (BEng/MEng/MSc).
  • Experience in structural calculations per BS/Eurocodes and related standards.
  • Experience in design of civil structures in Water/Waste Water context; proficient with MS Office and engineering software.

Responsibilities

  • Gain hands-on experience across major infrastructure projects.
  • Work with experienced engineers to build technical knowledge and professional skills.
  • Support workload planning and meeting project deadlines.
  • Be willing to relocate/travel to project locations as needed.

Graduate Civil Engineer

Location: Peterborough/Hybrid

At @one Alliance, we bring together eight leading organisations to deliver Anglian Water's capital investment programme across the East of England. Together, we're delivering projects to help protect and improve one of the UK's most important resources - water.

As a Graduate Civil Engineer you'll be part of this exciting programme from the start, gaining hand-on experience of Civil Engineering across major infrastructure projects.

You'll work alongside experienced Engineering professionals building your knowledge, developing your skills and working towards a successful career in Civil Engineering.

You'll be supported throughout your development, with opportunities to build your technical knowledge, gain professional experience and work towards your longer-term career goals.

What we're looking for

We're looking for graduates who are curious, collaborative and keen to build a career in Civil Engineering and who enjoy working with people, solving problems and learning new things.

You'll need:

  • A 2:2 degree or above BEng or MEng/MSc Degree in Civil or Structural engineering
  • Good knowledge and experience of undertaking structural calculations for various concrete structures not limited to slabs, beams, liquid retaining structures, etc using the British Standard Codes, Eurocodes, and other acceptable standards not limited to Ciria Guidance, BRE, etc Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience in undertaking design of various civil engineering structures within the Water and Waste Water Industry and exhibit high competency in the use of MS office suite and relevant engineering software packages not limited to TEDDS by Tecla, Staad Pro, AutoCAD, Robot, CIVIL3D, Revit, etc
  • The ability to organise your workload and meet deadlines
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to learn
  • An interest in infrastructure, construction or the built environment
  • A full UK driving licence, or the ability to travel between project locations where required
