Job summary

Anglian Water is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join the @one Alliance in peterborough. You will gain hands-on experience across major infrastructure projects, working with experienced engineers while developing technical knowledge and pursuing professional registration.

You’ll receive structured development, mentoring, and opportunities to contribute to meaningful water industry projects in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • 2:2 degree or above in Civil/Structural engineering.
  • BEng or MEng/MSc in Civil/Structural engineering.
  • Experience with structural calculations using BS Codes, Eurocodes, and Ciria guidance where applicable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience designing civil structures in the Water/Waste Water sector and proficiency in engineering software.
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines; collaborative and eager to learn.
  • Full UK driving licence or ability to travel between project locations.

Together, we’re delivering projects to help protect and improve one of the UK’s most important resources - water.

As a Graduate Civil Engineer you’ll be part of this exciting programme from the start, gaining hands‑on experience of Civil Engineering across major infrastructure projects. You’ll work alongside experienced Engineering professionals building your knowledge, developing your skills and working towards a successful career in Civil Engineering. You’ll be supported throughout your development, with opportunities to build your technical knowledge, gain professional experience and work towards your longer‑term career goals.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for graduates who are curious, collaborative and keen to build a career in Civil Engineering and who enjoy working with people, solving problems and learning new things. You’ll need:

  • A 2:2 degree or above
  • BEng or MEng/MSc Degree in Civil or Structural engineering
  • Good knowledge and experience of undertaking structural calculations for various concrete structures not limited to slabs, beams, liquid retaining structures, etc using the British Standard Codes, Eurocodes, and other acceptable standards not limited to Ciria Guidance, BRE, etc
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience in undertaking design of various civil engineering structures within the Water and Waste Water Industry and exhibit high competency in the use of MS office suite and relevant engineering software packages not limited to TEDDS by Tecla, Staad Pro, AutoCAD, Robot, CIVIL3D, Revit, etc
  • The ability to organise your workload and meet deadlines
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to learn
  • An interest in infrastructure, construction or the built environment
  • A full UK driving licence, or the ability to travel between project locations where required
