Job summary

TQR is seeking a motivated Marine Technical BDM to join a global manufacturer at Plymouth. The role drives growth across UK and Norwegian manufacturing operations, combining engineering expertise with commercial acumen to identify, develop and convert new opportunities across our global customer base.

You will build relationships with stakeholders and technical teams, create technically compelling proposals, and maintain a sales pipeline across UK and Norway.

Qualifications

• Degree educated or a minimum of a HNC/HND in an Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or Product Design discipline.
• Proven experience working as a Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer or Technical BDM.
• Commercially driven with a proactive approach to business growth.
• Technically curious and eager to understand customer challenges.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies to support sustainable growth across the UK and Norwegian facilities.
• Identify and drive cross-selling opportunities by promoting the full range of manufacturing capabilities across both sites.
• Build strong relationships with existing customers and expand business through additional products and solutions.
• Generate new business opportunities through market research, customer visits and industry events.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, design and production to develop commercially attractive technical solutions.
• Present technical solutions to customers and support proposals and quotations.
• Maintain regular communication with UK and Norwegian teams on opportunities and requirements.
• Monitor market trends and competition to identify growth opportunities and travel to international customers.
