Job summary

Saab UK is seeking a field support technician to service, install, repair, and maintain the Giraffe 1X radar and other radar systems within Saab’s portfolio. The role requires building relationships with in-country operators and Saab engineering teams, with travel including high-risk areas.

You will work with radar systems, software loading, high-power electronics, hydraulics, and cooling interfaces, requiring deployment readiness and security clearance. Training across sectors is provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand complex systems of systems including radar, EW, C2, or similar military electronic systems.
• Willingness to deploy at short notice to high-risk areas.
• Must pass Deployment Ready Training medical examinations.
• Experience in a technical customer-facing environment with fault-finding under pressure.
• Full UK driving license.
• Computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Support customers on-site domestically and internationally in field and operational environments to enable initial radar system fielding, including preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Manning customer support desks, training end users, and assisting with OEM production.
• Support trials, exercises, deployments globally in support of military operations and other growth initiatives.
• System integration and verification, and support to configuration management.
