Job summary

Saab UK in Fareham is expanding its radar and sensor activities and seeks an Inspection & Test Technician. The role sits in the Production department within Test & Inspection, inspecting produced items, testing units and the G1X radar. Some travel to Sweden for training may be required.

The candidate will work in a team, support leadership, and ensure high-quality soldering and testing to company standards. An opportunity to grow within Saab UK’s defence and security activities.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years minimum in inspection, testing and measurement.
• Capable of inspecting to IPC class 3 standard.
• Familiar with test and measurement equipment used in radar or electronic warfare environments.
• Good technical communication skills.
• UK or Swedish citizenship is required.
• Able to work in a team and also independently.

Responsibilities

• Support Test & Inspection Team Leader to achieve production goals.
• Ensure soldering and electrical loom is carried out to a high standard and test functionality of units.
• Help and train others by passing on knowledge and skills.
• Interpret electrical drawings and follow documented processes.
• Record results and maintain IT system usage.
• Maintain professional relationships across departments to meet delivery objectives.
• Act ethically and with integrity at all times.
• Perform other duties as required by supervision.
