Job summary

Mayborn in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a part-time Customer Deductions Assistant to support the Accounts Receivable and Customer Deductions functions across the group. The role focuses on recording disputes, tracking repayments and ensuring records are accurate.

The position requires accuracy, strong Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks across regions including UK, US and Europe. Working hours are 20 per week, 9am-2pm Mon-Thu.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a finance administration or accounts role.
• High accuracy with financial data and records.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills with deadline focus.
• Analytical approach to discrepancies and issues.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks across customers with minimal supervision.
• Experience with customer deductions, disputes, debit notes or credit notes is advantageous.
• Proactive and willing to learn and improve processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and take ownership.

Responsibilities

• Maintain records of customer price and shortage disputes.
• Raise appeals against disputes when appropriate.
• Track repayments related to disputes and follow up.
• Complete monthly customer account clean-up activities.
• Maintain and reconcile dispute records.
• Maintain UK and US debit note reports weekly.
• Track repayments and credit notes against debit notes.
• Assist with reconciliations and investigations into deductions.
• Provide general administrative support to the Customer Deductions team.
• Assist with month-end activities and group reporting timetable.
