Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our Exeter team. You will lead complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects, guiding technical delivery and client relationships across a diverse portfolio.

The role requires substantial geotechnical design, analysis and ground risk expertise, with chartered status or progress towards it. We offer a hybrid UK-wide working model and opportunities to drive innovation within our geotechnical business.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, and ground risk management.
• Experience delivering geotechnical design, analysis and interpretation across sectors and ground conditions.
• Proven ability to lead technical delivery, manage project risks and ensure QA of outputs.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead on complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects, providing oversight across lifecycles.
• Lead development of ground models, assessments, designs and deliverables for a diverse project portfolio.
• Oversee advanced geotechnical analysis for foundations, earthworks, slopes and related assets.
• Manage project delivery including programme, commercial performance, quality assurance and risk.
