Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking Geotechnical Engineers to join our Cardiff team. You will deliver geotechnical assessments, develop ground models, and contribute to design solutions for diverse projects.

The role involves planning and supervising ground investigations, mentoring juniors, and collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams. We value proactive problem solving and ongoing professional development toward Chartered status.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of ground risk and site investigation planning.
• Knowledge of soil and rock mechanics and engineering geology.
• Experience delivering geotechnical assessments, reports and design calculations in consultancy, contractor or client environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for high-quality deliverables.
• Experience supervising ground investigations and managing site activities safely.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technically sound geotechnical and geological assessments, reports and design outputs.
• Develop ground models, interpretation and design parameters to inform solutions.
• Plan and supervise ground investigations, manage fieldwork and site data.
• Build relationships with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
• Drive innovation with sustainable design practices and 3D data solutions.
