Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join in Southampton. You will act as technical lead on complex geotechnical projects, deliver ground models, assessments and design solutions, and manage investigations and client relationships.

You will mentor junior staff, support bidding and tender submissions, and contribute to innovation and sustainability across the team.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in geotechnical engineering and geology.
• Experience delivering complex projects with risk and design management.
• Proven ability to lead technical delivery and manage project risks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with clients.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead on complex geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects.
• Lead development of ground models, assessments, and design solutions.
• Manage ground investigations, planning, procurement and risk.
• Coach and mentor engineers and geologists within the team.
• Support business development and client growth strategies.
