Job Summary

A PCN GP ARRS role for Synergy PCN based in Uxbridge Middlesex. The PCN comprises four local practices and serves a population of 45,000 patients. This position is for newly qualified GPs who are within two years of their Certificate of Completion of Training and who have not held a substantive post before.

Responsibilities
  • Provide surgery consultations, telephone and written queries, and home visits.
  • Check and sign repeat prescriptions and manage paperwork and correspondence efficiently.
  • Make professional, autonomous decisions regarding presenting problems, whether self‑referenced or referred from other health‑care workers.
  • Contribute to QOF and PCN data recording and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop care plans in line with disease‑management protocols.
  • Prescribe in accordance with the accepted prescribing formulary or generically when clinically appropriate.
  • Carry out all normal duties and responsibilities expected of a GP within primary care, as set by the Royal College of General Practitioners, General Medical Council, and other regulatory bodies.
Qualifications & Person Specification
  • Newly qualified GP, no more than two years qualified, with no previous substantive post.
  • Eligible to work in the UK and holds GMC registration.
  • Ability to carry out duties with or without premises adaptation.
  • Post‑graduate qualifications such as Minor Surgery, Education, Family Planning, etc.
  • Well‑developed IT skills and enthusiasm for new applications and software.
  • Excellent time management, highly organised, and able to work under pressure.
  • Strong initiative, judgement, resourcefulness, common sense, and knowledge of local services.
  • Interest in quality improvement work and ability to analyse complex technical information.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to gain acceptance for recommendations and influence colleagues and patients.
  • Team‑working ability, independent practice, and accountability for professional expertise and service delivery.
  • Full driving licence and current immunisation status (Hepatitis B & MMR).
Contract and Compensation

Fixed‑term 12‑month contract, part‑time with a flexible working pattern. Salary is based on experience.
