Job summary

Upham Inns, a collection of premium pubs across Southern England, seeks a General Manager. You will lead a hands-on team, ensure high standards of guest service and quality food, and drive the guest journey from booking to farewell.

You will oversee training, community engagement, health & safety and brand compliance while managing rosters and stock. A strong leadership presence and passion for hospitality are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as General Manager of Gastro style pub (min 1 year) or proven track record across pub/restaurants.
• Strong leadership to drive guest service to highest levels.
• Financial understanding: P&L, sales and labour budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Manage pub in line with company procedures and brand standards.
• Lead by example with hands-on training and coaching of the team.
• Engage with local community to grow repeat business and strengthen reputation.
• Inspire a guest-focused culture of great food and service.
• Oversee health and safety, licensing compliance, stock and wastage controls.
• Prepare rosters 2 weeks in advance aligned to labour budgets.
