Job summary

Upham Inns is seeking a General Manager to lead one of its gastro-style pubs in Southern England. You will drive guest service, coach the team, and uphold brand standards while delivering excellent food and experiences.

You’ll manage health and safety, control stock and rosters, and engage with the local community to build repeat business. The role requires up to 48 hours per week, including evenings and weekends, with a clear development pathway.

Qualifications

• Experience as General Manager of Gastro style pub for at least 1 year.
• Consistent approach to driving the team to achieve the highest guest service levels.
• Strong leader to foster effective teamwork aligned with company vision and direction.
• Passionate about hospitality and delivering exceptionally high-standard of service.
• Highly motivated, proactive and reliable.
• Available to work up to 48 hours per week including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• Financial understanding with P&L, sales and labour budgeting.
• Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Overall management of the pub in line with company procedures and brand standards.
• Lead by example with a hands-on approach to training, coaching and development of the team.
• Engagement with the local community to develop and improve repeat business and reputation.
• Inspire a passion for delivering great food and service culture throughout the team.
• Health and safety responsibility and DPS license compliance.
• Overseeing stock and wastage control, and roster planning in line with budgets.
