A leading hospitality company is seeking a General Manager for a vibrant community pub & hotel in Derby. This role involves managing all operations while focusing on team engagement and driving sales. The ideal candidate is passionate about enhancing customer experiences and preferably has hotel experience. The Blue Jay is a large, community orientated site with a 38 bedroom hotel located in Derby, just off the main bypass into the city centre. It offers a classic pub menu and daily carvery. Current weekly sales sit around £35,000 with a split in favour of food.
It functions via a central bar with open plan dining space of 240 covers, benefitting also from a children's play area and function room.
Externally, there is also a large beer garden with 140 covers and children's play area.
There is a great mixed guest demographic that includes families and local drinkers, as well as visiting guests staying at the hotel.
The site offers exciting opportunities to utilise the large car parking space available and drive more weekly family reasons to visit.
The Blue Jay is well set up, with a strong senior team in place across front and back of house as well as a great reputation within the local community and excellent guest satisfaction scores.
A community-driven operator, preferably with hotel experience would thrive at this site. There is live-in accommodation available in the form of two flats above the site.
