Job summary

Example Recruitment Group is recruiting self-employed heating engineers for a national heating contractor in the Wolverhampton & Walsall area. The role covers annual service visits, landlord gas safety checks, and repairs with 6–8 pre-booked appointments per day and a minimum of 3 days per week.

Benefits include weekly payments, van stock and PPE provided, tablet-based diagnosis, and long-term ongoing work. ACS CKR1 & HTR1, Gas Safe Registration, and insurance are required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of qualified experience as a heating engineer.
• ACS Qualifications including CKR1 (Gas Cookers) & HTR1 (Gas Fires).
• Gas Safe Registration is mandatory.
• Calibrated Flue Gas Analyser is required.
• £2m Public Liability Insurance is expected.

Responsibilities

• Carry out annual service visits and safety checks.
• Perform landlord gas safety records and repairs.
• Work 6–8 pre-booked appointments per day.
• Commitment of 3 days per week, with options for up to 5 days and weekend/evening work at enhanced rates.

Overview

Example Recruitment Group are currently recruiting on behalf of a national heating contractor operating within the private sector. They require self-employed heating engineers for an ongoing service & repair contract in the Wolverhampton & Walsall area.

Contract Details

• Location: Wolverhampton & Walsall
• Work Type: Annual Service Visits (safety check), Landlord gas safety records, and repairs.
• Work Load: 6-8 pre-booked appointments per day
• Commitment: Minimum of set 3 days per week. Up to 5 days available plus optional weekends and evening call out available at enhanced rates.
• Contract Length: Ongoing (no end date)
• Payment terms: Weekly one week in arrears.

Rates

• Annual Service Visit (Safety check): £23.06 per appliance
• Repairs: £41.00 per completed property (full van stock and parts supplied)
• Linked Repair: £30.75 (plus service rate if repair required during service)

Optional out-of-hours and weekend work is available at enhanced rates.
