Job summary

Example Recruitment Group is seeking self-employed heating engineers for an ongoing service and repair contract in Leicestershire. Role involves annual gas safety checks, landlord gas safety records, and central heating repairs from Leicester base.

Expect 6–8 pre-booked visits per day with a minimum 3 days per week and up to 5 days plus optional weekends/call-out at enhanced rates. Van, PPE, tablet and diagnosis tools supplied.

Qualifications

• 2 years of qualified heating engineer experience.
• ACS CKR1 (Gas Cookers) & HTR1 (Gas Fires) qualifications.
• Gas Safe registration is required.
• Calibrated flue gas analyser.
• Panel Van (plain or sign written).
• £2m Public liability insurance.
• No unspent criminal convictions.

Responsibilities

• Perform annual gas safety checks and landlord gas safety records.
• Carry out central heating repairs and routine service visits.
• Work 6–8 pre-booked appointments per day.
• Availability for 3–5 days per week with possible weekends and call-out.

Overview

Example Recruitment Group is currently recruiting on behalf of a national heating contractor operating within the private sector. Self‑employed heating engineers are required for an ongoing service & repair contract in the Leicestershire area.

Contract Details

• Location: Leicester
• Work type: Annual Service Visits (Annual Gas Safety Check), Landlord Gas Safety Records, and central heating repairs.
• Work load: 6‑8 pre‑booked appointments per day.
• Commitment: Minimum of set 3 days per week. Up to 5 days available plus optional weekends and evening call‑out available at enhanced rates.
• Contract length: Ongoing (no end date).
• Payment terms: Weekly one week in arrears.
• Rates:
  • Annual Service Visit (Annual Gas Safety check): £26.65 per appliance
  • Repairs: £51.25 per completed property (full van stock and parts supplied)
  • Linked Repair: £38.44 plus Annual Service Visit Rate (if repair required at Annual Gas Safety Check)
  • Optional out‑of‑hours and weekend work available at enhanced rates.
