Job summary

Example Recruitment Group is seeking self-employed heating engineers for an ongoing service and repair contract in the Birmingham area. The role includes Annual Gas Safety Checks, landlord gas safety records, and central heating repairs with 6-8 pre-booked visits per day.

Tablet-based scheduling and supplied van stock support planning and on-site PPE. Minimum 2 years of heating engineer experience, ACS CKR1 & HTR1, Gas Safe registration and £2m Public Liability Insurance are required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of qualified heating engineering experience.
• ACS Qualifications CKR1 (Gas Cookers) & HTR1 (Gas Fires).
• Gas Safe Registration is mandatory.
• Calibrated Flue Gas Analyser experience beneficial.
• £2m Public Liability Insurance required.
• No unspent criminal convictions.

Responsibilities

• Undertake annual gas safety checks (annual service visits) and landlord gas safety records.
• Perform central heating repairs as required; respond to repairs within planned visits.
• Manage 6-8 pre-booked appointments per day with pre-booked scheduling via tablet.

Job description

Example Recruitment Group is currently recruiting on behalf of a national heating contractor operating within the private sector. They require self-employed heating engineers for an ongoing service & repair contract in the Birmingham areas.

Contract Details

• Location: Birmingham
• Work Type: Annual Service Visits (Annual Gas Safety Check), Landlord Gas Safety Records, and central heating repairs.
• Work Load: 6-8 pre-booked appointments per day
• Commitment: Minimum of set 3 days per week. Up to 5 days available plus optional weekends and evening call out available at enhanced rates.
• Contract Length: Ongoing (no end date)
• Payment terms: Weekly one week in arrears.
• Rates:
  • Annual Service Visit (Annual Gas Safety check): £23.06 per appliance
  • Repairs: £41.00 per completed property (full van stock and parts supplied)
  • Linked Repair: £30.75 plus Annual Service Visit Rate (if repair required at Annual Gas Safety Check)
• Optional out-of-hours and weekend work is available at enhanced rates.

Requirements

• Panel Van (plain or sign written)
