Job summary

Example Recruitment Group is recruiting for a national heating contractor to provide self-employed heating engineers for ongoing service and repair work in the Wolverhampton & Walsall area.

Responsibilities include annual service visits, safety checks and landlord gas safety records, with 6-8 pre-booked appointments per day and flexible hours, including weekends at enhanced rates.

Qualifications

• 2 years of qualified experience as a heating engineer.
• ACS Qualifications including CKR1 (Gas Cookers) & HTR1 (Gas Fires).
• Gas Safe Registration is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Carry out annual service visits and safety checks.
• Perform landlord gas safety records and repairs as required.

Job description

Example Recruitment Group are currently recruiting on behalf of a national heating contractor operating within the private sector.

They require self‑employed heating engineers for an ongoing service & repair contract in the Wolverhampton & Walsall area.

Contract Details

Location: Wolverhampton & Walsall
Work Type: Annual Service Visits (safety check), Landlord gas safety records, and repairs.
Work Load: 6-8 pre-booked appointments per day
Commitment: Minimum of set 3 days per week. Up to 5 days available plus optional weekends and evening call out available at enhanced rates.
Contract Length: Ongoing (no end date)
Payment terms: Weekly one week in arrears.

Rates

• Annual Service Visit (Safety check): £23.06 per appliance
• Repairs: £41.00 per completed property (full van stock and parts supplied)
• Linked Repair: £30.75 (plus service rate if repair required during service)

Optional out-of-hours and weekend work is available at enhanced rates.

Requirements

• 2 years of qualified experience as a heating engineer
• ACS Qualifications including CKR1 (Gas Cookers) & HTR1 (Gas Fires)
• Side Van (plain or sign written)
• Gas Safe Registration
• Calibrated Flue Gas Analyser
• £2m Public Liability Insurance
• No unspent criminal convictions
