Job summary

Life Services Group's W.H. Scott & Son Funeral Directors, Edgbaston, is seeking a Funeral Service Specialist (Level One). You’ll lead branch operations, support families with empathy, and guide them through funeral plans with care and professionalism.

This full-time role (38.33 hours weekly) offers a salary of £26,708.34 per annum, up to 25 days of annual leave, a matched pension, life assurance and ongoing training to conduct ceremonies and grow within the group.

Qualifications

• Empathy and emotional resilience in sensitive contexts.
• Experience in customer service, care or admin is beneficial (training provided).
• Strong communication, organisation and admin skills.

Responsibilities

• Support families with empathy and attention to detail.
• Arrange funerals meeting family wishes, legal requirements and cultural practices.
• Oversee day-to-day branch operations and administration.
• Build relationships with suppliers, care homes and local groups.
• Lead chapel visits and assist with ceremonial duties as needed.
• Promote funeral plans and contribute to branch sales.
• Provide training for funeral conducting during peak times.
